John Ellis Lund

John Ellis Lund passed away suddenly Thursday, March 25, 2010 from respiratory failure.

He was born September 13, 1952 in Ogden, Utah to Ellis M. and Mary W. Lund.

John was raised and educated in the Ogden School District and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. He attended Weber State College. After high school, he served in the United States Army for two years.

He worked at the Internal Revenue Service for 34 years, most recently as a Criminal Investigation Analyst.

John enjoyed anything to do with most sports. He loved going to football, basketball and baseball games. He was the best armchair quarterback EVER! He also loved spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

John is survived by his mother, Mary Welling, stepfather, LaVere Welling, two sisters, Marian Townsend, Deanna (Jerry) Stephens, a brother, David (Mary) Lund, and five nieces and nephews, Kaylee, Sherrie, Natalie, Jordan and Brek. He is also survived by numerous life-long friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1st at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

The family will meet friends for a viewing on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the mortuary.
