John Douglas Maples

John Douglas Maples passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the University of Utah Hospital.

He was born September 11, 1975 in Foley, Alabama, the fourth child of James E. and Mary Ann J. Maples. He was raised in Alabama.

J.D. was a lover of nature, animals and children. He was grateful for his family. He enjoyed working and helping other people. He collected artifacts and was a huge football fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

J.D. is survived by his father, James, Goodway, AL; mother, Mary Ann Hack, Salt Lake City; sister, Donna Odom, Uriah, AL; brother, James Maples, Jr., Annapolis, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Maples in 2007.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, West Point Cemetery.
