John Allen Massie

ROY- John Allen Massie, 46, passed away on July 6, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada the victim of a homicide.

He was born on September 19, 1964 in Marion, Ohio to John Calvin and Mary Ann Spicer Massie.

He was raised in Deer Valley, Arizona and had lived in several states prior to moving to Utah.

John received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Phoenix .

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Gulf War, where he was awarded three bronze stars. Following his military service he became an analyst and educator for Hill Air Force Base.

John enjoyed motorcycling, fishing, remodeling anything, helping anybody and everybody, being outdoors and traveling.

He is survived by his son, James Calvin Massie, daughters, Crystal and Savanna Massie, Jacqueline and Christen Fuentes, mother, Mary Massie; sisters, Ruth Ann Drinkard and Mary Marie Vinup.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Calvin Massie and his best friend Todd Wendall.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Roy City Cemetery.

Family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery, 2300 W. 5200 S.
