John (Jack) Daniel Morrill

LAYTON a€" John (Jack) Daniel Morrill, 82, passed away August 29, 2007 at LDS Hospital.

He was born August 12, 1925 in Panguitch, Utah the son of Melvin J. and Cornelia Day Morrill.

Jack served in the United States Navy for 23 years, during World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War as a Flight Engineer, traveling extensively. He loved teaching electronics and algebra for 20 years at Viewmont High School.

He married Diana Turner on April 26, 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Jack was an active member of the Layton Country Creek Ward.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to take anyone fishing with him. He also enjoyed painting.

Surviving are his loving wife Diana of 50 years, sons John, Provo; Dan (Agata), West Yellowstone, MT; Matt (Sheila), Missoula, MT; daughters Karen, Provo; Nani (Ron) Pierson, Bountiful; Alicia (Dwain) Klein, Kaysville; Kristy, Bountiful; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother Richard Morrill, two sisters Lois Steab and Velda Harding.

Preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Leslie and Diana Turner, brothers Garn, Grant, Kenneth and sister Wanna.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Farmington City Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
