John Anthony O'Toole

John Anthony O’Toole passed away January 28, 2024 in Layton, Utah at the age of 65.  He was born in Davenport, Iowa to Loras Joseph and Therese Rose Kloppenborg O’Toole on January 22, 1959.  

He served in United States Navy from 1977 to 1983.

John married Trudy Ranae Hughes on June 22, 1980 in Reno, Nevada.  They are the proud parents of four sons and one daughter.   

As a young child he was baptized into the Catholic Church then on April 10, 1987 he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

John loved to play golf every day and was the Marshall at Sun Hills Golf Course for a while.  He also loved swimming, diving and 3D printing.

He is survived by his wife Trudy (Hughes) O'Toole and his children Sean (Melissa) O'Toole, Ryan O'Toole, Nathan O'Toole, Heather (Chris) Medina and Micheal O'Toole. His father, Loras O'Toole, brothers Loras O'Toole & Kathy Brewer and Mark (Linda) O'Toole and one sister Kristi O'Toole. His grandchildren Rylynn O'Toole, Brayden O'Toole, Whitney O'Toole, Whitney O'Toole, Keegen O'Toole, Thomas O'Toole, Brooklyn O'Toole and Logan Medina.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Therese O'Toole and grandparents William O'Toole, Rosene (Schmidt) O'Toole, Nicholas Kloppenborg and Victoria (Pfannenstiel) Kloppenborg.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sun Hills Ward Chapel, 3290 North 1050 East, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
