John C. Paulsen

In loving memory, John Crawford Paulsen died at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, he was 81 years old.
He was born May 9, 1933 in Logan, Utah the son of Frank and Ella O. Paulsen.
On March 20, 1953, John married Janet Lundquist in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They had two daughters, Susan Paulsen Richins and Jeanne Paulsen Morris. Janet preceded him in death July 19, 1991.
He then married Dorothy K. Ward on March 18, 1993.
He graduated from Utah State University (USAC) with a B.S. in business Administration in 1955. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Army’s ROTC program and served two years on active duty as a Armor officer.
John worked as a sales representative for Wyeth Laboratories (a division of American Home Products) from 1957 to 1988 (31 years). In 1988 he started a medical equipment company, representing several national manufactures. John then focused on Medical Charting and organization of medical records with Carsten’s Medical Equipment. John enjoyed working with Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses and others in the medical profession. He particularly liked to travel in his area of Utah, Idaho and Montana. In many towns and cities he took friends to lunch and golf and enjoyed good conversations.
In his younger years he especially enjoyed boating, water skiing, snow skiing in Park City and playing lots of golf. He also enjoyed spending time at the FOE Lodge and Eagles Family Meadows with family and friends.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy, two daughters, Susan and Jeanne, five grandsons, Corey Richins, Riley Richins, Jared Richins, Dustin Porter, Ryan Porter and eight great-grandchildren. He also has many step-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, F. Robert Paulsen and Claron Paulsen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9th at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
