John Douglas Pulsipher

October 22, 1947 — September 18, 2021

John Douglas Pulsipher, beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2021 at the age of 73.

 

Doug was born on October 22, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Lewis and Marian Lee Pulsipher.  He attended local public schools, graduating from Highland High School in 1966 after which he served in the Utah Army National Guard.  He also attended and graduated from the Art Center College of Design and Photography in Pasadena, CA.

 

From 1967 to 1969, Doug served an LDS mission to Porto Alegre, Brazil.  He later returned to Brazil and married Vera Regina Rosa on June 9, 1970.  They settled in Salt Lake City where Doug established himself as a photographer specializing in Utah and Western states landscapes. His photographs have been featured in numerous publications, online and in several local businesses.  Doug enjoyed exploring the great outdoors and finding new locations to photograph. He and his wife, Vera, also operated a bonsai business together.

 

Doug is survived by his wife Vera, his wife of 51 years and his siblings, Marilyn Baird (Terry) and Joel Pulsipher.  He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Nancy Pulsipher and Kat Pulsipher and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gerreld and Richard and his sister Sheryl.

 

Interment was held on September 28, 2021 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City.  Doug was beloved for his sense of humor, his gentle nature, and his wonderful smile.
