John Russell Reeder

John Russell Reeder of Santa Rosa, California passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 90.

John was born April 8, 1933, in Morgan, Utah to John C. Reeder and Garnet H. Reeder (nee Rock). John lived in Green River until 1941, when his family moved to Ogden, Utah. John graduated from Weber High School. John had a beautiful singing voice and would often sing and harmonize with his brothers and his mother. John was also a member of the Ogden Men’s Choir and was often a favored soloist. 

John married Connie L. Faulkner in February 1952. They were the parents of five children, Katie, Bradley, DeeAnn, Richard, and Gayle. John worked many jobs but was able to get the job of his dreams when he was hired as a computer programmer at Hill Air Force Base. In 1962, John was offered and accepted a job with North American. John and his family moved to Carson, California. John and Connie divorced in 1970, but were able to remain life-long friends.

John married Susan Stevens in November of 1971. John received a job offer from Ampex Corporation and he and Susan moved to Menlo Park, California in 1976. John and Susan divorced in 1994, but remained close friends. Upon retirement John moved to Georgetown, California where he lived until January 2023, when he moved to Santa Rosa. 

John was preceded in death by his parents, John C. Reeder and Garnet H. Reeder; his sister, Sondra Reeder; and his brothers, Dan Reeder, Mike Reeder, Patrick Reeder, William Reeder, and Robert Reeder.

John is survived by his children, Katie Jolles, Bradley Reeder, DeeAnn Cruz, Richard Reeder and Gayle Mondt. John has 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah, with a family visitation held that morning from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. A Graveside service will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the North Morgan Cemetery, 825 North 700 East, Morgan, Utah.
