John H. (Jack) Robins
KAYSVILLE - John H. (Jack) Robins, 90, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jack was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 2, 1921, and was the second son born to John W. and Cora B. Robins.
He attended the University of Utah, until the start of World War II. Jack was a decorated pilot in the war as well as a decorated tank driver.
On September 22, 1945 he married the love of his life, Zelda Scales and they were married 66 years. Zelda passed away December 11, 2004.
After marrying Zelda, Jack worked at Robins Brokerage and eventually became the owner and President/CEO of the company. Upon his retirement, Jack and Zelda traveled to various countries and also grew a fantastic garden, especially the gigantic tomatoes.
Jack was a Jazz fan and attended the Utah Stars and Utah Jazz games for 36 years until the age of 89. Jack loved to snow ski, and shoot at the Kaysville Pistol and Rifle Range.
Jack is survived by two children, T. Richard Robins, RuthAnn Robins and close family friend Evan Jamie Ward. He is also survived by four granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Zelda, son Bill, brother and parents.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road. Friends may visit family on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, Kaysville, UT.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice or Primary Children''s Medical Center.
