A special son of Heavenly Father was peacefully taken home to be with his parents and older brother, Val Ware Thornley, on November 2, 2018.
John Ware Thornley of Bountiful Utah was born to Jessie Layton Thornley and Elizabeth Ware Thornley on January 27, 1936. Due to complications at birth he became a special needs son and spent his life being an example of a loving, forgiving, caring and kind human being to all he met.
He lived a full life and accomplished many things. He was able to visit Hawaii, Alaska and Cancun, Mexico with family members. He was a good friend who loved people and animals. He enjoyed riding a calf in his youth. He loved sports, especially fishing. He participated in the Special Olympics and received a bowling award in Las Vegas, Nevada. He loved dancing. He loved Christmas and Holidays. He worked hard to become an Eagle Scout.
John is survived by his sister 'Donna' aka Glenna Thornley Smith, who was always Donna to John since he never could say Glenna.
We are very grateful for the wonderful and attentive care and friendships John enjoyed during the last years of his life spent at Turn Community Services in Bountiful, Utah.
