John Francis Weisgerber, 84, passed away in the early morning hours on Friday, October 27, 2023. He was born on March 19, 1939 in Wild Wood, Cape May County, New Jersey, the son of William O. and Mary E. Black. He joined the Army in 1955, serving in the Cold Ward, and was honorably discharged on October 14, 1965.
He married Rosella Munoz on June 12, 1965 in Trinidad, Colorado. In 1975 John and Rosella and their family settled in Ogden, Utah.
John retired after 34 years working in the Defense Logistics Agency for the Federal Government.
He was a member of the Catholic Church. In 1976 he joined Alcoholics Anonymous and was a proud member, being sober for over 47 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, skiing, and skydiving.
John is survived by his wife, Rosella M. Weisgerber of Ogden; son, John S. (Patsy) Weisgerber of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter, Darlene A. Ewing of West Haven; grandchildren, Amber A. “Boop” Weisgerber, T. J. R. Osborn, John P. Weisgerber, and Jason L. Weisgerber; great-grandchildren, Axten Osborn and Alyena Osborn; granddog, Mt. T. “Tiny Tim” that gave him great joy; and sister, Mary Cleo Hasbrouck of Rincon, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Black; sister, Patti Black; and brother, Buddy Weisgerber.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
