John Patrick Wiss

“Johnny”

Our beloved uncle, brother-in-law, and friend passed away on December 11, 2014.  He was born on October 25, 1947 to Arvid and Gean Wiss in Fort George, Iowa.  He graduated from Granite High School class of 1966.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.  John retired after 40 years from Hill Air Force Base while working with the Landing Gear Division.

John was a loving, kind person and would do anything to help anyone.

He always had a smile on his face and a funny joke to tell.

Survived by his sister-in-law, LeiLani Wiss; nieces and nephews, Michael, Randy, Jef, Michelle, Carmellia, Rita, Marriane, Steve, Mark, Gean, Stanley, Shawn, Gerard, Joe, Faith, Hope, Charity, and Pat; longtime friend, Larry Cross.  He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Donna Malcom, Ann Wiss, Vivian Mirowski; and brother, Michael Wiss and girlfriend, Teresa.

John was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

We now know John is resting peacefully and now with many of his loved ones.

The family is grateful for Aaron for being there for John and for Ogden Regional for caring for him during his last weeks with us.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City.
