John Enoch Young CLEARFIELD – Our dear father, grandfather and friend, John E Young, 96, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2008 into the loving arms of his wife Lois. John was born September 21, 1912 in Kaysville, UT to Enoch Marvin Young and Hannah Victoria Phillips. John married Lois Barlow May 17, 1922 in Ogden, UT. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple October 28, 1936. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. We all loved him very much and will miss him forever. John is survived by his children LaRae Spencer (Howard), Wendover, NV; John Wayne (Patricia), Clearfield, UT; Brent B. (Kathleen), Nantucket, MA; son-in-law Howard Chalker, Surfside WA; 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and one sister, Isabell Adams (Wallace). John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years, Lois, his daughter Lois Ann Chalker, one great-grandson, his parents, three brothers and three sisters. The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful caregivers at Country Pines, Clinton, UT and Health Watch and Caring Hands of Hospice, 3579 N 2175 E, Layton, UT. They are truly angels of God. Friends and family may call Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 So. State. Graveside services will follow at the Clearfield City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
