John "Jack" Iacovelli

John “Jack” Mark Iacovelli

John "Jack" Mark Iacovelli, our dad, husband, grandpa, brother, uncle, teacher and friend, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

Jack was born in Milford, Massachusetts to his parents, Henry and Grace Iacovelli. He grew up in Hopedale, Massachusetts with a wonderful family and made lifelong friends. He came to Utah to attend Weber State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate. He made a huge impact on his students and the teachers he worked with at Mount Ogden Jr. High, Saint Joseph’s Catholic High School, Sandridge Jr. High, and Weber State University. If you ever meet one of his students, they will tell you he was one of the best teachers there ever was.

Jack will be greatly missed by his wife, Marcia Parisi; his four children; Shaun (Whitney) Iacovelli, Michelle (James) Pool, Marco Keipp, and Matthew McFarland; along with their mother and his dear friend, Peggy McFarland; his grandchildren; Christian, Conner, Hannah, Chloe, Rua, Isaac, Ryan, Boston, and Mekhi; as well as his three brothers, Robert (Irene) Iacovelli, Richard Iacovelli, and Buzzy (Rima) Iacovelli; and his sister, Paula (Bruce) Cater.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Nola Iacovelli.

As his children, what we will miss most is his quick wit, unique personality and spot on (although sometimes unsolicited lol) advice. We could not have wished for a better dad.

Besides being with his wife and family, he loved playing pool, bridge, and golfing with good friends. According to him, he was a master of all three. (Wink wink)

Our family would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the wonderful care given to him by Dr. Carl Gray & his office, Ogden Regional Medical Center - Oncology, Stonehenge of Ogden, and CNS Hospice Care.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.   Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Ogden Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, our family encourages you to donate to your favorite charity.
