Johnny R Jones, age 67, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017.at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home after many years of health issues.

Johnny was born on September 13, 1949 at the home of a relative in Cornish, Utah to Richard Monson Jones and Aileen Bingham.

Johnny graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1967 and later joined the US Army where he served for two years which included serving in Vietnam. He later worked at Wonder Bread but retired due to health issues.

He married Gayle Kelley and later divorced. From this union was born two daughters, Nanette and Tamara.

He is survived by his children, Tamara (Jason) Child, Shane, and Kelli Miller; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Lewis (Deb) Jones of Clearfield; 3 sisters, Juanita Miller, Clearfield, Carrol (Bob) Dandoy and Luella (Paul) Sottosanti of Roy.

One of Johnny’s favorite quotes was “The past is the past, tomorrow isn't promised, all we have is today which is the present. That is why they call it a gift"

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Nanette, and brother, Richard.

The family would like to thank the staff at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home for all the service and care they provided to our brother the many years he was there.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
