JoLean B. Waite

LAYTON- JoLean J. Waite, 88 years old, passed away January 25, 2017.  She was born June 22, 1928 in Columbus, Nebraska to Isabella and Lennie Jones.  She married John W. Waite in the Salt Lake Temple in 1949.  They both graduated from BYU in 1950 and then moved to Layton where they spent their lives together.  John and JoLean served together in the Ogden LDS Temple, the Canada Halifax Mission, and various other LDS church callings.  JoLean served more than 25 years as a volunteer at Davis Hospital.

JoLean was a dedicated mother of seven children; John Leonard (Julie), Paul (Janet), Jeffery Dee (Sherrie), Kelly Glen (Mary) Nancy, Mark (Coleen), Susann (Harold Kerkman) and sister Fran (Clark Reinert).  JoLean has 34 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband John and daughter, Nancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017,  Layton 6th Ward chapel, 1402 N. Fort Lane.  Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
