Jolene “Jo” Keiko Kawa Koga

Our wonderful, generous, fun, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Jolene “Jo” Keiko Kawa Koga passed peacefully on June 23, 2022 of pancreatic cancer.  Born on September 7, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Kenzie and Joyce Kawaguchi.

Married to Roger A. Koga on May 28, 1971 and had two wonderful kids, Kristin and Korbie.

Jo graduated from Ogden High School in 1969 and attended Weber State University. She worked in the grocery industry for many years. Jo was a proud wildcat and worked at the Weber State University Bookstore for over 20 years before retiring. 

Jo loved spending time with her family and spoiling everyone. Jo was known for her silly, contagious, and positive energy. She was a true fighter and proud breast cancer survivor who loved to dress up. You would always find Jo out shopping for all the best deals. Above all else, Jo loved so deeply and fully and was a ray of sunshine who was loved and adored by all.

Survived by her husband, Roger; daughter, Kristin (Michael) Koga-London, Cave Creek, Arizona; son, Korbie (Cassie) Koga, Scottsdale, Arizona; four grandchildren, Skyler (Robyn) London, Jaden London, Kingston Koga, Kai Koga, one great-granddaughter, Lylah London; three sisters, Paulette Kawa, Roy, Utah; Shar (Clark) Holmes, Ogden Utah; and Melanie Nelson, Layton, Utah and one brother, Kenny (Jolene) Kawa, Brigham City, Utah and has several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents.

We would like to thank the staff of Community Nursing Services Hospice for all their caring support.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. at a later date.
