JoLynn Sutherland

On September 2, 2012, our precious wife and mother, JoLynn Sutherland, passed away at Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Jo was born January 25, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to Arthur H. and Mary M. Jensen. She graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber State College. She enjoyed working at Boeing.

She married the love of her life, Frank "Butch" Sutherland in January of 1971 and together they raised their three daughters.

Jo was an amazing lady. She battled MS for 42 years, never a complaint and always with a smile on her face. She was a published author who had written several books. Her favorite pass time was collecting "funny things her Grandkids had done and said" and compiling them into a treasured keepsake. She spent many hours making beautiful afghans for her family. Jo''s nickname could have been "perfect" because whenever she was asked how she was doing her answer was always "I''m Perfect!" no matter what her condition was, Jo never had time for negativity.

Jo is survived by her husband and three daughters, Pamela (Michael) Williams of Missouri; Wendy (Tom) Baur of Ogden; Vicki (Scott) McColl of Georgia; 13 "adorable" grandchildren; sister, Mary Rae (Gary) Swenson of Pleasant View; special aunt and uncle Dee and Char Jensen of Pleasant View and many cherished family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Applegate Home Care; special nurse and friend Marilee for her excellent care; and Promise Hospital of SLC for the outstanding care she received in the last 3 months.
