JON SCOTT CARTER

Our Beloved Father, Brother, Son and Friend, Jon Scott Carter, passed through this life into the next while surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday February 19th, 2022. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Misty Parish.

Jon was born January 13, 1956 and raised in Bountiful Utah. Jon attended and graduated from Viewmont High School.

Throughout Jon’s life he found joy and a love for many things. One of those joy’s was the trucks he had the opportunity to drive as a long haul and local delivery driver. Jon took pride in always having a clean, show quality truck for every delivery and before returning his rig to the shop. Jon was dedicated to his job and loved meeting new people. In some cases, he even built lasting friendships with customers who always loved seeing him and his truck pull into their yard for deliveries. Another love in Jon’s life was his boats. He spent most of his adult life on the water with family and close friends. Creating everlasting memories for all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. However, the greatest love Jon had in his life was his son, JJ. He always enjoyed spending time with him sharing stories, passing on his passions and knowledge of trucks, fishing and boats. His son now has the great honor of keeping his Dad’s legacy alive.

Jon leaves behind his mother and father, Joyce and John Carter; three sisters and their spouses, Rae and Lonnie, Julie, Jo and Rod; two brothers and their spouses, Butch and Susie and Mike and Kelli; his daughter and her spouse, Kristin and Mitch Hooper. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews along with four wonderful grandchildren; his very best friend, fishing buddy and son, JJ and his wife Ashley.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah, where friends may visit with the family from 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Following the service Jon will be laid to rest at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine Street, Murray, UT. 84107.
