JON ARTHUR HIRSCHI

Jon Arthur Hirschi, age 54, passed away on November 11, 2009, in Ogden, of complications from choking.

He was born January 6, 1955, in Burbank, CA, a son of Dean and Lydia Hirschi.

Jon had a happy childhood filled with typical boyhood pleasures. At eight Jon had his first seizure. From that point onwards, he was subject to pain of seizures and discomforts associated with treatments, surgery, and medications.

During his youth and adult years when he was compelled to tolerate long and difficult days of limited physical and mental health, he found happiness in eating KFC and Crispy Bean Burritos. Hours were spent watching Little House on the Prairie, Lawrence Welk and Greenacres. Jon enjoyed leather work and bead work. His favorite singer was Johnny Cash.

Jon''s stories of being a military helicopter pilot in Viet Nam and fighting Bengal Tigers will be missed. Yet, the gateway of death has provided Jon a welcome release from the infirmities of his physical imprisonment and has opened the way for Jon''s reunion with his loving and devoted mother.

He is survived by his father, Dean Hirschi, sister Rebecca "Becky" (John) New and brother Dean (Helen) Hirschi, Jr.

The family wishes to thank Future Through Choices, especially James, Jamie, Pete and Rita for their tireless and loving care of Jon. We also thank Jon''s roommates, Darrel, Tyler and Nolan, for giving the gift of friendship to Jon.

There will be a viewing at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends and family may call from 10-10:45 prior to services.
