Jonathan Burke (Gerszewski)

Jonathan K. Burke (Gerszewski) Our beloved Jonathan Kent Burke (Gerszewski), age 25, passed away on March 13, 2008 from causes related to cancer. He was born on December 30, 1982 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kent and Suzanne Burke, but was raised from the age of one in the Holladay area by James and Monika Gerszewski. Jonny had a love and talent for music which continued throughout his life and he improved his skill on both the piano and guitar as well as composing. His band, TEar, was the passion for the last few years of his life. He loved to swim, and played on the water polo team at Skyline High School and lived at the neighborhood pool during the summers. Jonny was a gentle person, whose good nature and calm acceptance drew people toward him. We are all better people for having associated with him. He is survived by his father, James (Sunni McBride) Gerszewski and mother, Monika Gerszewski, and siblings, Christy (Ryan) Petrie, Mirielle (Kent) Buck, David Burke, Daniel Gerszewski, Michael (Beth) Burke and Ian (Julie) Gerszewski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kent and Suzanne Burke. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008 at he LDS Chapel, 4176 S. Adonis Dr. Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Dr. and Sat. from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
