Jordan Jay Duran passed away at the age of 27, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on June 12, 1997 in Ogden, Utah at McKay-Dee Hospital to his father, Jason John Duran and his mother, Rebecca Kay Price. Jordan spent most of his childhood in Layton and Clinton, Utah.
Jordan was raised by his devoted single father after the passing of his mother.
Despite the loss of his mother, Jordan found solace and love in the care of his dedicated father. His father not only provided for him financially, but also acted as a source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love. Through it all, Jordan was forever grateful for the strength and resilience his father showed in raising him as a single parent where he got the nickname Jorditho.
Jordan cherished his childhood, especially his love for baseball, dinosaurs, GI Joe, parks, The Land Before Time, camping, fishing, and playing with his childhood dog, Disney the Dalmatian. Baseball was always a source of joy for him as he loved watching and playing the sport. His passion for dinosaurs, particularly the large prehistoric creatures, had him captivated from a young age. GI Joe was another favorite toy that provided many hours of fun. Parks were always a spot of adventure, where he could play on the hamster wheel, go on walks, sing songs, and explore. The show, Land Before Time held a special place in his heart. Camping was part of his summers along with tubing down the river and fishing with his family. Jordan had a special companion in Disney, his loving grandparents' dog. Jordan became a member of the LDS church when he was baptized on March 13, 2010.
Jordan went to Clearfield High School where he joined JROTC, scrimmage with the soccer team, and made lots of friends during his after school boxing club with his boys. Jordan also found a mentor in Mr. Rogers, who inspired and supported him throughout his educational journey. He graduated with the Class of 2015.
Jordan never lost his love for fishing, camping, tubing, and being outdoors. He always had headphones in as he loved the presence of music in his daily life. Jordan enjoyed watching his favorite teams Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia Eagles, and Utah Utes. He liked the excitement and adrenaline that they brought to his life. He loved the color red, and always had something red on, no matter the occasion. He loved to be blinged out and would always wear big flashy earrings and chains. Jordan had a profound and unbreakable bond with his beloved dog, Rico, also known as pretty boy Ricky, whom he often jokingly referred to as his son.
Jordan had a huge heart, and perhaps that's why he gave the best bear hugs. You could feel his love when he embraced you. His laugh was contagious, and his smile would brighten your day. He was incredibly funny, quick-witted, and playful with his teasing. His humor was truly one of a kind. He never shied away from expressing his gratitude to those he loved, often reaching out just to say, "I love you." He truly holds a special place in our hearts. Jordan always loved his family through thick and thin.
Jordan is survived by his father Jason John Duran, his brother Daven Duran, his sisters Morgan Price, Alexcya Duran, MaLeah Duran, C’onna Duran, Azaleigh Duran, his profound best friend that was like his sister, Shaylyn Johnstone, and his many mother figures, Xanette, Jennica, Jackie, and Judy, as well as his many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jordan is preceded in death by his mother Rebecca Kay Price, aunt Stephanie Kaipainen, grandmas, Cristy D. Smith and Coral Morley, great Grandma Lois Price, uncle Breed Jefferies, uncle Henry Duran, cousin Richard “Ricky” Anguiana, and his great grandma and grandpa Stevensons.
