Jordan Don Whitesides
WEST POINT a" Our loveable, outgoing, and unforgettable Jordie, returned home into the arms of our loving Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 18, 2009.
Jordan was born on January 31, 1984 in Ogden Utah, the son of Roland and Chris Whitesides. Jordan joined our loving and eternal family in between his two best friends, Tyson and "his baby girl" Megan. His early years were spent in Clearfield, UT and the family later moved to West Point, UT. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 2002. He attended Weber State University and LDS Institute. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and received his Duty to God Award. He is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jordan served an honorable full time mission in Chile ViA±a Del Mar, where he touched the lives of many. He has served in many callings, his favorite being a Primary teacher. He loved the children and the children loved him.
Jordan loved music, texting, dating, snowboarding, playing his guitar, wakeboarding, fishing on the Madison, boating with gramps, family game night, smiling, eating candy, drinking Dr. Pepper, his beloved Kate, Dixie, and Molly, and bringing joy to others.
He had an exuberance for life. You always knew when Jordan was around. When he walked into a room, it lit up. His love for life was contagious and spread to those around him. Nobody was a stranger to Jordan, when he met you, instantly you were a friend without thought of prejudice or judgment. He made you feel like you were the only one in the room, and he never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Jordan''s outlook on life was always positive and optimistic. He lived life to the fullest and then some. Most people think before they act; Jordan just acted, which led to many great adventures.
He is survived by his father Roland Wood Whitesides, mother Christine Wintle Whitesides, brother Tyson Wood (Jill), sister Megan Ann, and the newest joy of his life, nephew Pratt Wood Whitesides; his grandparents Donald and Lareen Wintle and Reed and Allene Whitesides; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
We will be celebrating his life with family and friends at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Rd. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, March 25th prior to the funeral services at 11 a.m. which will be held at the West Point Stake Center, 550 North 2300 West.
