Our beloved Don Recto has begun his journey into God’s paradise on November 25,2023. He passed away in Ogden, Utah at the age of 84.
Don will be remembered as the life of every gathering, full of wisdom and entertainment. He was a person who live his life to the fullest. Don was known for standing tall, smelling good, looking dapper with clutch bag in hand. He was a pleasure to be with.
Don is survived by his children Jewell and spouse Glenn Morson, Hope and spouse John Byard, Jadee, Jay and spouse Cel, Pilar, Galo and spouse Chum, Crystal and Mabel. He is also survived by his brother Ray and spouse Mabel, and former spouses, Banting Recto and Pearl Cordero, along with their 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Soledad Recto, siblings Teresita Ramos and Oscar Recto, and son-in-law Steve Zosa.
A funeral mass will be held on December 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel St. Layton, UT 84041. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church’s social hall. At his request, there will be no viewing and he will be cremated.
Don’s ashes will be brought back to the Philippines to be buried in his final resting place in Manila Memorial Park sometime in 2024. The date is to be determined.
The intention is to livestream the funeral service via Facebook Live.
