Joseph Favero
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Joseph Favero, 91, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at his home of congestive heart failure.
He was born December 16, 1916 in Taylor, a son of Antonio and Amabele Monti Favero.
Joseph married Margaret Marie Jones on July 15, 1947 in Evanston, Wyoming.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ogden area.
Joseph was a devout member of the Catholic Church.
He served his country for seven years with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
His fondest memories of federal employment were with flight test.
Dad was an exceptional provider and an extraordinary family man. Joseph volunteered at St. Benedict’s hospital for a number of years. He was a baseball fan and coach. His number one hobby was working. He was a passionate conversationalist, an avid hunter and a lifelong flirt. Dad had an extraordinary sense of humor and never knew a stranger.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 62 years, Margie, Washington Terrace; eight children, Bill (Joyce) Favero, Layton; Monti Favero, Washington Terrace; Teresa (Dave) Stokes, Lake Forest, CA; Chris Favero, North Ogden; Craig (Gloria) Favero, Ogden; Hal Favero, Pleasant View; Pete (Laurie) Favero, North Ogden; Patty Favero-Gilbert, Layton; and 22 grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Margaret Dulaney, Alexandria, VA; Mae Carpenter, Cheyenne, WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Applegate Hospice, specifically Ann and Megan.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Vigil Services will be held at 7 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded.
