Joseph Samuel Hill

Joseph Samuel Hill died December 6, 2010 of complications following a stroke. He was born September 28, 1922 in Bonneville County, Idaho to Samuel A Hill and Priscilla Belle Phillips. He was the third of six children.

He lived much of his life in Fruit Heights, Utah and the last eight years in Sandy, Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Central State Mission, the Family History Library and the LDS Church Historical Museum. Among other callings in the church he was a member of the Tabernacle Choir and served on the Stake High Council, Bishop, and Stake Patriarch.

He was married to Margaret Pincock (1946 - 2000) and Clara Judd (2002 a€" 2010). He was a school teacher by profession, teaching in Bonneville County, Idaho and Davis County, Utah. He loved carpentry and milking his cows. He had a beautiful voice, singing in public every chance he got. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy during WWII.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Sandy Utah Crescent 11th Ward, 116 East 11400 South. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, So. Ogden.
