Joseph “Joey” Ross Matsushima

February 15, 1960 ~ February 2, 2017

Joseph “Joey” Ross Matsushima passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from natural causes.  Joey was born on February 15, 1960, the third son of Theodore T. and Mary F. Oda Matsushima.  He was raised in Ogden, Utah; graduated from Bonneville High School in 1978.  He attended Weber State College for many years in the 1980s.

He later worked at various jobs, from A & R Pipeline, Toys R Us, Walmart, HAFB, Kier Management, Officer’s Club; and the last position was for South Ogden City as a crossing guard.

Joe enjoyed photography, fishing, and watching football, baseball, and basketball – an Oakland Raiders fan forever.

Joe is survived by his mother, Mary, Ogden; sister, Louise M.(Christian K.) Lund, San Francisco, CA;  brother, Brian R. Matsushima, Ogden; and nephews, Chris T. Lund and Noah K. Lund, San Francisco, CA.  He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore T. and brother, Milton T. Matsushima.

Joe will be remembered at the 10:30 a.m.service, on February 5, 2017 at the Ogden Christian Church, 580 23rd Street, Ogden, under the direction of Reverand Nakaoka 801-814-9363.  Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers or Koden, it is requested that donations be made to the Bonneville Dialysis Center, 5575 South 500 East, Ogden, UT or to the charity of your choice.
