Joseph Craig Patterson
Joseph Craig Patterson, 62, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born on January 8, 1950 in Ogden, a son of Joseph Earl and Isabella Morton Patterson. He graduated from Burley High School in 1968 and attended Ricks College and Idaho State University.
Craig lived in Riverdale from 1950 to 1962, Burley, Idaho from 1962 to 1977, and in Ogden from 1977 until the time of his death.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ogden Taylor Canyon Ward.
Craig enjoyed working on the family farm in both Riverdale and Burley. Craig was the happiest when he was outdoors. He spent happy years attending different livestock sales. He learned the livestock trade from his father and grandfather. He was the co-owner of Earl''s Fruit and Produce in Burley. He was also employed in the food processing and sales industry until his health started to decline.
He found great joy in being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family. Craig looked forward to their calls and emails. He took great pride in the care he offered his parents as their health started to decline.
Craig loved and excelled at wood working. He loved to write poems and was an excellent photographer. He spent countless hours in his yard, and had an wonderful garden, in which he shared with many people. Craig was the neighborhood resource on gardening. He especially enjoyed caring for his birds year round.
He was a good hearted person, and always looked for ways to help others.
Craig is survived by his loving children, Melanie M. Mullins, Jeffery Earl (Latalia) Patterson, Spokane, WA; and Connie M. Patterson, Spokane, WA; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and sister, Peggy Anne Patterson, Ogden.
We will miss you so much.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Ogden City Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
