J.R. Walker

Joseph R. Walker passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 in Salt Lake City after an extended illness. He was born April 28, 1937 in the Old Farmers Union Building in Layton, Utah. His parents were Ray (Toe) and Berniece Walker of Layton. He married Barbara Jean Kelin, of Prague, OK, July 23, 1960.

J.R. graduated from Davis High School in 1955. He was a proud member of the USMC. He graduated from Weber State University. J.R. had a distinguished career in law enforcement in Utah, and the Pacific Northwest. In 1997 he retired to McCammon, ID with his wife Barbara, of 50 years and they spent the rest of his days fishing, and enjoying the outdoors

J.R. is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Shelley (Monte) Bloemke, Vancouver, WA; Jana Walker, Salt Lake City, UT; son, Adam Walker, Mexico City; grandchildren, Ryan, Shane and Brennan; sister, Bonnie (Paul) Perkins, Layton, and sister-in-law, Jean (Larry) Walker, Layton; Aunt Wanda Cottam, Brigham City, and beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 22 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, with a visitation from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
