Joseph William Waters
CLINTON a" Joseph William Waters, 85, passed away Friday, May 25, 2007.
He was born May 8, 1922 in Burley, Idaho to Jay and Pearl Butler Waters.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.
On June 6, 1946, Joseph married Donna Mae Chlarson in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings. He enjoyed the scouting program where he was awarded the Silver Beaver. He also enjoyed going to the Temple.
Fishing, camping and quilting were among his favorite pastimes.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Donna; a son, Rodger D. (Arlene) Waters, Carlsbad, NM; eight daughters, Judy (Arlo) Martin, West Valley City; Linda (John) Potter, Camarillo, CA; Ila (Lynn) Stephens, Riverdale; Deborah (Tim) Stanford, Morgan; Cherie'' (James) Andrews, Morgan; Naoma (Raymond) Potter, Clearfield; Trudy (Ron) Manning, Mesa, AZ; Donna (Bob) Ward, Soda Springs, ID; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Waters; 53 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by a son William J. Waters, three grandchildren, Anna Waters, Sandi Potter, Michael Potter and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 4th at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale 4th Ward Chapel, 5500 South 1175 West.
Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
