SOUTH OGDEN a€" Josephine Yoshiko Miyagishima, 85, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at her home of congestive heart failure and complications of diabetes.

She was born August 5, 1922 in Ogden, a daughter of Kumakichi and Kuma Suzuki Endow.

On January 25, 1947, Josephine married Howard Hisao Miyagishima in Ogden. Howard preceded her in death on October 15, 1993.

She was an active member of the Ogden Japanese Christian Church and served as a board member for several years.

Josephine enjoyed reading, her friends and the staff at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living.

Surviving are one son and two daughters, Raymond (Margaret) Miyagishima, Caroline Miyagishima, Georgiana Miyagishima, and two grandchildren Mariko and Todd.

Also surviving are two brothers, Isamu Endow and Takeshi Endow, and two sisters Kazuko Morimoto and Chizuko Kawaguchi.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Amy Kaneko and Toshie Endow.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday Noon to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
