Josie Scothern Foster

1977-2018

Beloved mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend passed unexpectedly on Monday May 7, 2018 in Kaysville, Utah. She was born in Kaysville to Roger D. Scothern and Denise Darrohn and welcomed home by her bother Trace Scothern, father Roger and step-mother Colleen who all preceded her in death.

Josie graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1995 where she was an honor student, cheerleader, dance company member and drama student. She then attended Weber State University where she graduated in Communications in 2000. She danced all four years participating in various dance and theater activities while there.

She taught dance at a young age. She had students in Salt Lake City, Ogden and Morgan influencing many young dancers to excel and enjoy the art of dance. Always an entertainer Josie was part of the Lagoon Entertainment, Pioneer Memorial Theater, Onstage Studios and Thompson Lane. She was crowned Miss Weber County in 1998. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mother to her four children: Alexander (17), Meadow (14), Eden (10), Evan (9). Through their many talents and activities, she taught them to improve themselves, to always try and do hard things, to help those in need, to never judge others and be a friend to everyone especially those with heavy hearts.

Josie married Samuel B Foster in 2000. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple in 2004. They later divorced.

She will be greatly missed by her children, her mother Denise, her brother Chad, sister Amber and brother Travis as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She will always be remembered for her vivacious personality, her love of music, her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh and her quick ability to hug you and make you feel at ease. She loved unconditionally and most that knew her witnessed this pure love that she shared so willingly.
