Joyce C. Bitton
SUNSET – Joyce C. Bitton, 77, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at Family Tree Assisted Living Center in West Point, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 2, 1932 in Ogden, a daughter of Walter T. and Virginia Anna Butler Champion.
Joyce married Jerry LaMar Bitton on February 9, 1951 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Jerry preceded her in death June 16, 1999.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She retired from the Internal Revenue Service following 25 years of service.
Joyce enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, crocheting, sewing and cooking. She was actively involved in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities from sports to dancing. Her family was everything in the world to her.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Douglas Jerry (Debbie) Bitton, Jeffery W. Bitton, Cheryl B. (Richard) Petersen, Brenda Bitton, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is her brother, Douglas (Tamera) Champion.
Preceding Joyce in death were her husband, parents, one granddaughter and one grandson.
The family expresses thanks and appreciation to the staff and administration at Family Tree of West Point, and Peregrine and Advocate Hospice.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the West Weber Cemetery.
