Joyce A. Briggs OGDEN – Joyce Andersen Briggs, 73, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, following a stroke. She was born May 18, 1935 in Preston, Idaho, a daughter of Merlin Jonas and Ruby Lottie Harris Andersen. She was raised and educated in Ogden attending Weber High School. She lived in Las Vegas Nevada for a few years. On January 15, 1952, Joyce married Ralph Albert Briggs in Ogden. Joyce enjoyed traveling and camping. Surviving are her husband, Ralph, of Ogden; one son and four daughters, Kenneth Briggs, and Vicki L. (Karl) Englmeier, both of Ogden; Louise Joyce (James) Garcia, West Valley City; Sharon Ann (Boyd) Hess, Malad, ID; Shirley Jean Briggs, Stone, ID; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Royce Andersen, Pleasant View; Alan Andersen, Beaver; Steve Andersen, Kaysville; Lisa Andersen, Taylor; Charlotte George, West Haven. Preceding Joyce in death were her parents, son, Gary Allen Briggs, granddaughter, Lindsay Kara Hess, and her sister, Carla Andersen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.
