Joyce L. Crosby

Joyce L. Crosby OGDEN – Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Joyce Lee Struhs Crosby, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 19, 1932 in Ogden, a daughter of Harry Herbert and Alice Lavon Murdock Struhs. Joyce married Gerald Walton Crosby on December 13, 1950 in Ogden. Gerald preceded her in death on September 21, 1987. Joyce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings including Primary Teacher and Visiting Teacher. She was a dedicated member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She spent nearly 50 years with her Beta Sigma Phi sisters and made many close friends. She served as president, secretary, treasurer and was elected Valentine Queen in 1978. Her hobbies included decorating her home, flower arranging, collecting dolls and taking care of her family. She always kept a tidy house and made sure dinner was on the table every night. Joyce loved spending time with her family and especially loved big family gatherings and parties. She loved her years of travel during her husband’s service with the U.S. Air Force. She especially loved her years in Japan. We find comfort knowing she is reunited with her husband and son and other loving family members. Surviving are three sons and four daughters, Robert D. Crosby, Ronald T. Crosby, Kyle (Shantel) Crosby, Debbie (Roger) Hansen, Karen (Reggie) Price, Pamela (David) Clapier, Lori (Todd) Gee; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley Carver and Lynda (Rick) Whitesides. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Gerald W.
