Miriam Joyce Dalton Eldredge

June 30, 1926 - July 3, 2017

Joyce passed away peacefully while living at Fairfield Village in Layton, Utah.  She is the fourth of seven and 2nd living child of Ellis R Wilson and Florence Folsom Wilson.   She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived in Bountiful till six years old when the family moved to Centerville, Utah.  Her siblings are: Robert F. Wilson (deceased) wife, Ruby; David R. Wilson, (deceased) and wife, Doris, and Janice McBride and husband Kenneth (deceased) and Donna Jolley and husband Carl (deceased).

She became interested in music and learned to play the violin in elementary school in Centerville.

She attended Brigham Young University where she enjoyed playing in the orchestra.  She met Gerald Dalton there just before he left on his mission to Argentina.  She graduated from BYU then worked in San Francisco, California for two years.  After Gerry returned from his mission, they married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 21, 1951.

Two years later, her first child Jeffery Lynn was born May 23, 1953.  She lost two babies after that. Joyce taught school for a few years and then they adopted Annette in 1963.  Annette was a joy in their lives.  Jeffery Dalton (deceased) had two children, Ian Dalton and Krystal Webster.  Annette and Marc Mayer have three children, Brodric Woodard and twins, Joshua and Matthew Mayer.

She began teaching elementary school in 1956 and retired after 26 years as a teacher.

After 37 years of marriage, Gerry became very ill and passed away November 23, 1988.  A couple of years later, Joyce started serving in the Ogden Temple.  There she met Andrew Eldredge and they married for time in the Ogden Temple on May 23, 1993.  Andy had two married children, Tana and Jay, Tana and Nyle Longhurst, have four children, Chelsea, Noelle, Logan and Christian.  Jay and Shanna Eldredge have five children, Jaden, McCall, Konner, Brittley, and Shaelyn.  They have all been a blessing in her life.

In 1994, Joyce and Andy were called to serve in the England Mission working on the 1881 census.  They served in Scotland and England. After their mission, they returned to Kaysville, Utah.  They shared a joy of travel, gospel and family.    They were married for 15 years until Andy developed Leukemia and passed away May 25, 2008.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11 am at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the mortuary.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
