SOUTH OGDEN - Joyce Lutz Morris, 89, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 5, 1922 in Logan, Utah to John W. and Elzena Whittington Lutz. Joyce was a lifelong resident of South Ogden.

Joyce graduated from Ogden High School in 1940 and went on to graduate from Weber State College in 1942.

On June 26, 1946, she married the love of her life and constant companion, Dr. Hugh Conwey Morris Jr. They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed 55 years of marriage.

Joyce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was a long time member of the Chareya Club, an avid golfer and member of the Ogden Golf and Country Club, and past President of the Ladies Association. Joyce was a past member and President of the Weber County and State Dental Auxiliary, past member of the Weber State Alumni Board of Directors, and officer of LaDinaeda.

She had an artistic talent for needlepoint.

Joyce is survived by her children: Joyce Thompson, Ogden; H. Conwey Morris III, Roy; Carolyn Perkins, Washington Terrace; Mark (Diane) Morris, South Ogden; Paul (Lori) Morris, Ogden; and Max Morris, South Ogden; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
