Joyce Brown Parkinson, 50, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, January 13, 2013 after a courageous fight against melanoma cancer.
She was born December 11, 1962, in Ogden, Utah to Keith X Brown and DeLell Monson Brown. She grew up in Layton, where she graduated from Layton High School and attended Weber State College.
She married Bryon T. Williamson July 15, 1982; they had three children together and later divorced.
On November 11, 2004, Joyce married S Clark Parkinson, II.
Joyce worked for Layton First National Bank, ZCMI, and Fusion Imaging where she worked as an account manager.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in the Primary and Young Women''s. She loved the girls that she taught in Young Women''s. Joyce loved participating in plays, drawing and reading. She was talented at sewing, home decorating and styling hair. She loved shoes, rainstorms, the smell of rain and lilacs, and collecting frogs and miniature chairs. She enjoyed taking trips with "the girls" from the bank. Her friends loved and supported her through her illness.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Clark; two sons, Trevor Clifton Williamson, Anthony Joseph Williamson; one daughter, Aerin Grace Williamson; her father, Keith X Brown; brothers, Stephen (Meta) Brown, Clifton (Pam) Brown, Jeffrey (Judy) Brown, Bret (Barbie) Faust, Damon (deceased) (Barbara) Faust; sisters, Vivien (Robert) Cannon, Dianne (Mark) Lindeman, Marsha (Fred) Boam, Caroline (Clyde) Lindeman, Janice (Reid) Wiberg, Aleta Faust and Cyd (Gene) Horne.
She was preceded in death by her mother, DeLell Brown, and her "second mom" Lani Kay Brown.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Wayne and Kathy Boydstun and Joe Covington and the rest of the staff and management from Fusion Imaging who were so kind and supportive through her illness. Also, the CNS Hospice nurses Scott, Deana, Chaplain Steve and Social Worker John, the IHC Doctors Tawnya Bowles, Dr. R. Dirk Noyes and the Huntsman Cancer Center. A fund has been set up for her children at any local Zion''s Bank offices in the name of Trevor Williamson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19th at 11 a.m. at the West Point 11th Ward Chapel, 2300 West 550 North, West Point.
The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, West Point Cemetery.
