Joyce Long Searle

April 8, 1929 ~ April 11, 2017

Joyce Long Searle passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.  Born on April 8, 1929 in Franklin, Idaho, lived my young years in Franklin, and graduated from Preston High School.  Loved my school years and had many friends.  I came from a family of three brothers and four sisters. 

I met Ervin Searle in Ogden in 1940 and we were married on June 13, 1947 and sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 8, 1948.  We had two sons born to us, Bobby Ervin and Timothy L. Searle. 

I was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Served in many callings; Primary for 25 years - loved the children, Sunday School, Relief Society, and the Ogden LDS Temple. 

I worked for ZCMI and IRS.  My favorite sport was golfing. 

Survived by son, Bobby Ervin (Lori) Searle, two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren; and sister, Ella (James) Folsom.  Preceded in death by my husband; son, Timothy L.; brother, John Long and two infant brothers; and sisters, Beth Thornley, Vida Beckstead, and Elda Beckstead. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Park Ward, 3755 Porter Ave., Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.  at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
