Joyce Barnes Shreeve
Our beloved, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Aunt and Friend passed away peacefully on June 6, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born on December 25, 1929, to Robert Taylor and Norma Elizabeth Lythgoe Barnes in Ogden, Utah. Joyce attended Ogden City and Weber County Schools and graduated from Weber High School and Seminary. She also attended Weber State College. She married LeGrant Fuller Shreeve on November 16, 1956, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She worked at the Naval Base in Clearfield and at the Defense Depot in Ogden, retiring in 1993. Joyce held numerous church callings throughout her life and especially loved the Primary and Relief Society. She loved the visits with her grandchildren, telling them stories of her childhood, and they enjoyed hearing them. She loved family history work and she and her family submitted several thousand ancestral names for Temple work. She stayed close to her high school friends and enjoyed the visits and lunches with them.
Joyce is survived by her husband, her three children, Joel, Ogden; Carrie (Dan) Sainsbury, Layton; and Nancy Ell, Rhode Island; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, June, Norma Jean and Barbara and a daughter, Margaret Ann.
The family would like to thank Cathy and Dawn from Hospice for all their love and support over the past year and also to nurses and staff at Washington Terrace Care Center. A special thanks to Dr. John Friden and Dr. John Wood.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
