Joyce Silotti

April 18, 1929 ~ February 5, 2018

LAYTON- Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Joyce Ogden Silotti, age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 18, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Victor and Edith Ogden.

Joyce was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School.  She had three siblings, Lois, Diane and Steve who have all preceded her in death.  Joyce married Jack Silotti on December 12, 1953.  They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 23, 1962.

Joyce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings.  Jack and Joyce served as missionaries in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission from 1995-1996.

Jack and Joyce square danced for many years where they made lifelong friends. Summers found them traveling in “The Moose” pulling the silver Airstream trailer so they could square dance across the country and into Canada, which created fond family memories.  They also spent many winters in St George where they enjoyed being snowbirds.

Joyce loved to sew and made countless articles of clothing for her daughters over the years.  She also loved to knit, crochet and cross stitch and she enjoyed giving handmade gifts to her children and grandchildren.  In her later years when she could no longer sew, she filled her time creating beautiful pictures using colored pencils.

She was an immaculate homemaker and kept a beautiful home and yard.  She instilled in her children the value of keeping things clean and neat.  Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and always loved visits from her children and grandchildren.  She especially looked forward to family gatherings and hearing all about the adventures of their everyday lives.

Joyce is survived by three awesome daughters, Valerie (Robert) Cutler, Tina (Jeff) Felt, Michelle (David) Hatch, her amazing son Wesley (Janet) Silotti, 16 spectacular grandchildren and 32 magnificent great-grandchildren with 4 little angels on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, and her awesome daughter Angela (Brent) Carling.

The family wishes to thank the kind staff and her friends at Chancellor Gardens which was her home for the last two years.
