Joyce Elizabeth R. Toone

Joyce Elizabeth R. Toone, 79, passed away at home on June 2, 2019 a few days short of her 80th birthday. She was born on June 8, 1939 in Grand Junction, Colorado, the daughter of Raymond A. and Olive M. Bates Richards. She later moved to Ogden, Utah. Attended Weber State College where she earned her Associate Degree in Social Work and Gerontology.

She married Dale P. Toone on August 7, 1960 in the Elim Lutheran Church.

Joyce was very active in the Lutheran Church and helped in assisting minister positions.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, spending time at the cabin, tea drinking, reading, socializing with friends, and bible study.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Brett R. Toone of Ogden; grandson, Austin B. Toone of Ogden; daughters, Kara T. Conroy of Ogden, granddaughter, Megan N. Conroy of Ogden; stepdaughter, Carolyn Bahl of Bountiful, and step-granddaughters, Melanie Bahl and Michelle Bahl of Bountiful; brother, Raymond (Sharon) A. Richards, Jr. of Rock Springs, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olive and Raymond Richards; sister, Judy Bates; son-in-law, John E. Conroy, and stepson, Gary Todd.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 5560 South 2300 West, Roy. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Thursday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
