Joyce Marion Bronson Tracy

May 7, 1931 ~ January 4, 2015

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Joyce Marion Tracy, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015.  She was born on May 7, 1931 in Monticello, Utah to Arch Valjean and Hyacinth Nielsen Bronson.  At a young age, her mother passed away and her father married Mary Morgan.  Mary became not only a stepmom but a mother as she helped raise Joyce and her siblings.

Joyce married Eugene F. Tracy on June 27, 1949.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 30, 1977.

She was a member of the Washington Terrace LDS 2 nd Ward where she served as the Relief Society chorister and various other callings within the ward.  She loved her many church activities.

Joyce worked at Shupe Williams Candy Factory, Weber State University Cafeteria, and Stevens Canning.  She enjoyed volunteering at St. Benedict’s Hospital.

She was very talented and enjoyed making crafts and ceramics.  She loved to read.  Joyce had a beautiful voice and participated in the Singing Mother’s Chorus which performed at Temple Square.

Joyce is survived by her son, Kevin (Trini) Tracy, Layton; daughters, Lynette (Hal) Staker, Clinton and Janeen Kirkman, Washington Terrace; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren,  brothers, Jack (Doris) Bronson, North Ogden and David (Julie) Bronson, North Ogden; and sister, Betty Hampton, South Ogden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; son, Mark; parents, stepmother, Mary Morgan; and brother, Boyd.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.   Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family thanks A Step Forward Hospice for their loving and tender care given to our mom and special thanks to our two angels, Cindy and Coco.
