Our beloved Ama is once again with the love of her life, our Apa. Ama passed peacefully on October 19, 2017, surrounded by her family. She lived a full and happy life of 86 years.

Juanita was born August 22, 1931 to Petronilo Najera and Soledad Ruiz in Mexico. She married Ignacio Castaneda Gutierrez on August 18, 1946 in Texas. She worked as a field laborer for many years.

Juanita is survived by her children: Guadalupe, Nena (Raul), Juan (Debbie), Ruben (Judy), Jr. (Concha), Irma (Raymundo), Roy (Bonnie), Daniel, Maria, Gloria (Dominic); 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sweetheart, Ignacio.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, UT. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

She will be dearly missed, but it’s time for her to fly with the rest of our angels.
