Judith Evans

Judith Evans, 77, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her home from declining health. She was born April 5, 1938 in Ogden, UT to Winslow and Isabelle Adams Evans. She spent her first 36 years in Layton and the next 41 years in Kaysville. She graduated from Davis High and was baptized a member of the LDS Church.

Judy married Dale C. Schryver June of 1955 and they were later divorced. Their marriage produced four wonderful children who returned love and adoration for her throughout her whole life.

Judy worked and retired from HAFB in 1991 after 35 years of dedicated service. Following retirement she worked at A1 Auto Salvage for 15 years. She loved flowers and had an extensive knowledge of horticulture. Judy had a deep love for her children and grandchildren and went to great extent to provide cherished memories.

There was no Judy without her sister Ellen and no Ellen without Judy. They were companions in life’s greatest tragedies and in life’s greatest joys. They spent many weekends together basking in the warm Lava Hot Springs sun.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Ellen Averett, Holiday, UT, son Dirk Schryver, Layton, UT and daughter Jackie (Ray) Bonsteel, Kaysville, UT, 15 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, children Mark Schryver, Susan Hammerle and granddaughter Nichole Hammerle.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where friends may visit with the family Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before the service.
