Judith Judd Garner
May 11, 1940 ~ December 16, 2017
Judith Judd Garner passed away peacefully Saturday, December 16, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Judy was born in Panguitch, Utah on May 11, 1940 to Reed Smoot and Sylvia Linford Judd. She graduated from Panguitch High in 1958 and was always proud of her Southern Utah roots. She also attended Utah State University.
On September 12, 1958 she married Larry N. Garner in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had four daughters. They were later divorced.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in numerous callings. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believed in eternal families.
Judy retired from Hill Air Force Base in 2000. She took great joy in helping individuals find employment during her career in Civilian Personnel.
Judy was known for being an avid Jazz fan, her cinnamon rolls, potato salad, her sense of humor and most of all her kindness to others. She loved like no other, she listened, gave advice, and gave everything she could to her family. She fought through trials and adversity, and was an example of hard work and determination. Judy’s family was the most important thing in her life. She was a devoted and treasured Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. We will miss her every day.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Stanton) Patterson, Gloria (David) Robinson, Tonya (Nathan) Robinson, and Monica (Jeffrey) Bailey; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Utah Hematology and Oncology especially Jan Davis who she referred to as her guardian angel. We would also like to thank her devoted neighbors, the Shirras.
Her legacy will be endless and her love that was felt by all who knew her will be here to buoy us up always and remind us that she thinks we are perfect, even though we surely aren’t.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the West Weber Stake Center, 4100 West 900 South. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
