Judith Ann Pehrson passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family from complications of Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease.
Judy was born on December 13, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jesse Adolphus and Mildred Louise Calhoun Kinkead.
On June 2, 1961, she married Richard W. Pehrson in the Logan Temple. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together this year. They had three children; Richard Gregory Pehrson, Gary J. Pehrson, and Debra Jean Craner.
Judy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During her lifetime, she served in numerous callings; Primary, Young Women’s, Relief Society organizations and serving in the Fairfield Branch which she truly enjoyed. Judy loved serving others, finding those in need and loving and caring for them. She also had a passion for Family History and Temple work. She and her husband served a Temple mission in Nauvoo, Illinois and were ordinance workers in the Oakland, Ogden and Nauvoo Temples. That time in their life was a testimony building experience. She grew up in El Centro, California but the majority of her married life was spent in Seaside, California. During that time, she had the opportunity to serve with many Polynesian sisters and learn about their culture. She truly loved getting to know them and serving together.
Judy loved to share her talents with others. Every holiday was filled with delicious cookies, treats, gingerbread houses at Christmas, and popcorn balls for Halloween. She loved to sew, crochet and learn any new craft.
She also spent her life not only as a terrific mother and wife, but as a teacher’s assistant in elementary schools. She loved working and teaching children, to share her love of reading and importance of education. She also loved sharing these things with her 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Richard, three children, Greg Pehrson, Gary (Deanna) Pehrson, Debra (Tyler) Craner, 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brother, John Kinkead, sisters, Jodie Hanson, and Rindee Stromer.
Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Carolyn Miller, Janie Burnett and brother, Steven Kinkead.
We are grateful for the time we were able to spend with her on this earth and know she returned to the loving arms of her Savior and family.
