Judith Anne Wells Stewart passed away peacefully January 25, 2023, at Stonehenge Rehabilitation Center in Ogden UT; she was 93. Judy was born in upstate New York, in the town of East Pitcairn, NY on November 14, 1929, to Rena and William Wells. At the age of 16 she started nursing school at the Sisters of Mercy Hospital in Watertown NY, earning her diploma, starting her 46 year career as a nurse.
Judy was the youngest of four sisters growing up in Harrisville, NY; she met Richard Stewart in nearby Watertown and was married there on October 5, 1957. She had three children, Colleen, Mark, and Scott. During their marriage they moved up and down the East Coast from New York to Florida moving 19 times in 19 years.
After being widowed in 1991, Judy came to live with her daughter and son-in-law Allan Netzer. Over the next 31 years, she was a cherished member of the Netzer household, traveling across the country following Allan’s military career. Judy always strongly confessed being a Christian, with a love for her Lord, and was active in several churches over the years. She was also active at the Ogden Senior Center and the local chapter of Red Hatters, and she had a love for bargain shopping.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Colleen, Eden, UT and son, Mark, Watertown, NY; and her daughter-in-law, Seleta Stewart, Griffin, GA; grandchildren, Joe, Sierra, Khloe, and Micah; and great-grandchildren, Waylon, Anakin, Owen Cash, Harrison, and Alaska Jane.
