Judy was born November 21, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Boyd and Ruby Goodfellow Roper. She had a happy childhood growing up in Ogden, Utah. She attended school in Ogden and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1964.
She trained at Stevens Henager Business School and was employed at many businesses as a secretary and bookkeeper.
She was previously married to Dr. Michael Miner for 26 years. Michael passed away in 2008. Judy was not blessed with any children.
Judy married Darrell Buxton on December 12, 2012 in the Bountiful Utah Temple. She became “Grandma Judy” and inherited many children and grandchildren. She grew to love all of them.
Judy loved scrapbooking, writing poetry, crafts and birdhouses. She loved movies, traveling, and camping. She loved her special friends, dogs, and going to car shows with Darrell.
Judy is survived by her husband, Darrell; her inherited children and grandchildren of Darrell; brothers, Randy (Marilyn) Roper of Uintah and Kim Roper of South Ogden; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale Stake Center, 4000 South Parker Drive. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
