Judy Lea Linderman Day

March 12, 1944 — January 21, 2025

Judy Lea (Linderman) Day, 80, passed away at her daughter’s home on January 21, 2025. Judy was born on March 12,1944 in Ogden, Utah to Lewis V. and Dora M. (Cunningham) Linderman, She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1962. She was the youngest of 10 children, and she enjoyed her life growing up with her older siblings… all of whom she admired. They were her closest friends. She loved them dearly throughout her life. She especially loved being an aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Two of her favorite childhood memories were waterskiing at Pine View with her brothers, and going downtown to dance with her sisters at the Berthana.

She married her high school sweetheart, David Friese, on January 15, 1965. They had one child, Tiffin, and later divorced. She married Tom L. Day in 1973. They had four children together, Cristie, Erin, Nicholas, and Brian. After 12 years of marriage, they divorced.

Judy was a nurse for 39 years. She graduated from Weber College in 1967 with her LPN and later continued her education while raising five children on her own. She earned her RN in 1987. She worked hard at, and was proud of, her career. For her, it was a labor of love. She worked in orthopedics, radiology, the nursery, and the Women and Newborn Unit. She had the honor of working at all three McKay Dee Hospitals throughout her life.

She made many nursing friends through the years. She worked and traveled with them… she spent a great deal of time with them both in and out of work. They were like family. She cherished their friendships and has remained friends over the years with many of them. She enjoyed planning and attending nursing conferences.

Judy loved to travel everywhere. Jackson Hole was her favorite place to visit, but she also loved going to the Bar J Wranglers. She loved Elvis, old movies (i.e., Golden Girls and Magnum PI), and listening to country music. Alan Jackson was her favorite!

She loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many responsibilities over the years. She especially loved serving in the library with her daughter, Erin. She loved her ward and church family.

Judy is survived by her five children, Tiffin Friese, Cristie (Patrick) Mickelsen, Nicholas (Cyndi) Day, Erin Day, and Brian (Kambee) Day; and nine grandchildren, Spencer, Gabriel, Hannah, EmmaLyn, Logan, Christian, Austin, Kiera, and Evry. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
